Virtual World Developer Platform

The Dubit Developer Platform simplifies and accelerates the creation of virtual worlds. We've packaged our technology into a suite of powerful components that anyone can use to build a virtual world rich with adventures, collections, non-player characters, and games without ever needing to compile source code or setup a server. 

All components in the suite are Flex components that you can easily customize. Developers can extend the platform with new features and new components.

The platform is powered by the same technology that supported over 10,000 concurrent players in Cartoon Network's first virtual world, and was recently chosen by Brit Chicks whose small team of artists used our simple GAML script to design and build 20 parallax scrolling rooms, 40 quests and adventures, 20 non-player characters, and over 400 digital items in less than 3 months.

The developer platform is now in beta and will be released in three stages over the next two months:

  • 0.1 Release: single player engine used to design and build the core world, game mechanics, and adventures.
    Features: quests, branching conversations, inventory, achievement engine, collectables, skill engine, verb bar, single player game API, levelling engine, trophy engine, google analytics integration, world map, messages, notifications, parallax scrolling rooms, depth sorting, background music, sound effects, collision detection, lighting effects, and GAML scripting.

  • 0.2 Release: multiplayer support.
    Features: customizable characters, shops, friends list, player profiles, login & authentication, avatar creation, avatar name generator, chat, chat filtering, administration tools, and image baking.

  • 0.3 Release: payment gateway integration.
    Features: subscriptions, micropayments, SMS payment, avatar actions, emoticons, and multiplayer game API.
